LAS VEGAS, NV -- Boise State men's basketball player Mikey Thompson will test himself against some elite competition this summer.

Thompson, a junior-to-be for the Broncos, was named to the Level 1 Athletics roster in the Desert Reign ProCity League on Wednesday.

The ProCity League is primarily for current UNLV players, however, it also features other colliegate and professional talent.

Former Idaho Stampede standout Pierre Jackson is on the United Way of Southern Nevada roster, as is former Idaho Vandal standout Kashif Watson.

Each team will play one or two games a week through July 22.

Last season, Thompson played in 33 of 34 contests for Boise State and averaged 8.6 points per game.

Thompson is from Las Vegas. He led Canyon Springs High School to a state title as a senior and was named the Northeast League's Most Valuable Player in each of his final two seasons as a prep.
